- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup Italian-seasoned breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- Olive oil spray
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3-5 minutes.
- Pound the chicken breasts to an even 1/2-inch thickness.
- Set up a breading station with three bowls: flour, beaten eggs, and a mix of breadcrumbs, Parmesan, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and oregano.
- Coat the chicken in flour, dip into the eggs, then press into the breadcrumb mixture until fully coated.
- Lightly spray the air fryer basket with olive oil.
- Place the breaded chicken in a single layer in the basket and lightly spray the tops with olive oil.
- Air fry for 10 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- Top each piece with marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese.
- Return to the air fryer and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove, let rest for 2 minutes, and serve with pasta or a side salad.
Notes
For extra crispiness, use panko breadcrumbs and preheat the air fryer before cooking.
